Rod Bauer has held management positions in corporate communications and product marketing in the United States and abroad and has served as president and board director for non-profit corporations.

With a background in languages and literature, Rod got his start in the corporate world as a marketing writer and manager. At Microsoft, he wrote speeches, keynote addresses, articles and newspaper editorials that helped establish Bill Gates as an industry visionary. Also at Microsoft, he led or contributed to marketing efforts for Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, MS-DOS, Xenix, Word, Multiplan and the Microsoft Mouse. He was the liaison with Apple for the launch of the Apple Macintosh.

Rod's subsequent career has included marketing, product and engineering management positions with leading software and communications companies, including Autodesk, Aldus Corporation and Adobe Systems. For Autodesk, Rod created and managed the AutoCAD developer program and contributed code to AutoCAD. At Aldus and Adobe Systems, Rod led product marketing efforts for digital imaging products. During the Internet boom of the late 90's, Rod helped launch and manage several Internet and software ventures based in California, China, India and Israel.

Since 2003, Rod has consulted in product planning, communications and press relations to U.S. and international corporations, non-profit organizations and educational institutions.

Rod is an alumnus of Reed College in Portland, Oregon and holds degrees in Comparative Literature and Languages from the University of California. He also has studied in Seattle, London, Austria and Italy and speaks Italian, French and German.
